Do you have 15 hours to perfect the crispiest most delectable roast potatoes? Because that’s how long you’re going to need to make these amazingly crispy potatoes. Now 12 hours of this will be resting time, so a lot of the total time won’t actually involve you doing anything, which we love! Use our new ingredients to give this dish a pop of flavour you won't believe.
Ingredients
- 800 g Maris Piper Potatoes, Sliced - finely
- 5 tbsp. Goose Fat or Beef Dripping, Melted
- Pureety Potatoe Seasoning
- Pinch Devon Sea Salt
Cooking Method
- Pre-heat the oven to 140°c - gas mark 1 - 120°c fan
- Slice the potatoes finely using a mandolin. Then add to the bowl the goose fat and the Puréety Original potato seasoning
- Line a loaf tin with greaseproof paper and proceed to layer the potatoes up in the tin, place another sheet of greaseproof paper on top of the potatoes and press down firmly
- Cook the potatoes in the oven for 2.5 - 3 hours or until the potatoes are cooked
- Once cooked, use tins e.g. baked beans on top to keep the potatoes pressed down and place in the fridge for a minimum of 12 hours
- Take the potatoes out of the fridge and portion them into 4 slices (use a ruler or tape measure for precision)
- Fry in oil 180°c until crispy and golden brown
- Sprinkle with sea salt and enjoy
